Passenger kicked off flight after arguments and behaving ‘inappropriately’

A passenger who ended up in a heated argument with a cabin crew member after allegedly behaving "inappropriately" was kicked off the flight before being arrested.

The passenger – later identified as Absar Alam – ended up in a row with one of the staff on board a flight from Delhi, India, on Monday (January 23).

Dramatic video footage showed Absar and another passenger in a heated exchange with two female cabin crew members.

He had allegedly touched one of the female crew members in an inappropriate manner on the SpiceJet flight to Hyderabad in the state of Telegana.

Other passengers claimed it was only due to limited space on board the flight – but he was later escorted off the flight.

The passenger reportedly submitted a written apology but he and his co-passenger were later removed from the flight.

An official statement from SpiceJet detailed how "one passenger behaved in an unruly and inappropriate manner, harassing and causing disturbance to the cabin crew."

The statement read: "The crew informed the PIC and security staff of the same.

"The said passenger and a co-passenger, who were travelling together, were offloaded and handed over to the security team".

Local reports state the passenger was arrested after a complaint from a security officer from the airlines.
