Mike Shanahan sells Cherry Hills Village home for $15.752 million
New Broncos Ring of Fame member and former head coach Mike Shanahan has sold his Cherry Hills Village home for $15.752 million.
The recent, lofty sale is the highest single-family home price for the metro area, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Shanahan and his wife, Peggy, built the sprawling 35,000-square-foot mansion back in 2008. It sold on Tuesday according to a Kentwood Real Estate listing by Chuck Gargotto, a broker associate.
The six-bedroom, 13-bath home features a wine grotto and cigar lounge, a racquetball court, a two-lane bowling alley and golf simulator. Gardens on the 3.5-acre property include fountains and waterfalls, there’s a changing room off of the swimming pool and the sale includes a two-bedroom, four-bath cozy guest cottage. The main residence has 11 fireplaces, rooftop solar panels and a seven-vehicle garage.
Sandy Weigand, a colleague of Gargotto who helped broker the deal, told the WSJ that the sale takes the title for the most expensive single-family home purchase in the Denver area.
The Shanahans, who designed the mansion with Rick Watkins of Mesa Properties, previously put it on the market in 2016 with a $22 million asking price.
Mike Shanahan, who won back-to-back Super Bowl titles with the Broncos, on Sunday was inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame.
