Suella Braverman is sacked by Rishi Sunak over protest row as reshuffle begins
Suella Braverman’s claims of police bias not signed off by Downing Street
Rishi Sunak has reported sacked Home Secretary Suella Braverman, sparking a long-awaited Cabinet reshuffle.
The brutal move, set to infuriate the right of the Conservative Party, came after days of speculation about Ms Braverman’s future, following an enormous row about whether a hardline op-ed in the Times had been cleared by No. 10.
A spokesman for the PM said: “Rishi Sunak has asked Suella Braverman to leave the Government and she has accepted”.
Ms Braverman had been causing numerous headaches for Rishi Sunak, including a policy of tearing down homeless people’s tents and describing the pro-Palestine protests as “hate marches”.
In a tweet posted by the official Conservative Party account, they described the reshuffle as the Prime Minister “strengthening his team”.
“HERE WE GO! Today Rishi Sunak strengthens his team in Government to deliver long-term decisions for a brighter future.”
