The shooting comes one day after a 13-year-old boy allegedly killed eight fellow students as well as a school guard.

The school shooting, which occurred on May 3, was the first in Serbia's modern history.

Serbia dealt with its most recent mass shooting in 2013.

In that incident, a war veteran killed 13 people in a village in the central part of the country.

Serbian Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic called Thursday's shooting “a terrorist act,” according to state media.
