Breakthrough theory on ‘headless’ baby girl found ‘decomposing’ on Spanish beach
Police have issued an update after the decomposing and headless body of a baby girl was found washed up on a Spanish beach.
The tragic tot discovered by a civil cleaner in the Costa Dorada resort of Roda de Bera on July 11, has now been identified as an eight-month-old girl.

Spanish police confirmed yesterday (July 18) the child may have died after a wooden vessel carrying the migrants, called a patera in Spanish, capsized near the Balearic Islands on April 6.
The tragedy killed 15 people.
Roda de Bera mayor Pere Virgili said: "The hypothesis this baby’s body is another one from the Mare Mortum off our beaches is on the table."
He added the baby had been wearing a jacket and other items that suggested her death hadn't been the result of a typical beach accident.
Forensic experts also confirmed the body had been in the water for between a fortnight and two months when she was found.

The Civil Guard the ill-fated vehicle left Cherchel in Algeria on March 21 and had been at sea for 17 days before it sank.
After the cleaner made the discovery they alerted bosses who then sounded the alarm to police.
The area around the body was cordoned off as officers began their investigations before an investigating judge authorised the removal of the body.

"The alarm was raised at 8.50am this morning. The matter is still under investigation."
It was later discovered the body had washed up on the beach a day before it was found, but it was ignored by passers-by who thought it was a doll.
