CCTV footage shows moment arsonist sets two cars ablaze as victims slept

CCTV footage has captured the shocking moment an arsonist set two cars ablaze on a city street as the owners slept.

It was around 2am on June 22 when the thug calmly sent an Audi up in flames before the ferocious fire spread to a nearby Nissan Qashqai.

In a video of the incident a hooded figure poured a liquid over the Audi in Evelyn Road, Sparkbrook, before slowly walking around the vehicle, Birmingham Live reports.

The news comes a month after a family released terrifying footage of their car and driveway engulfed in flames from an unrelated incident.

They claim it was just one incident in a four-year-long hate campaign against them as a shocking video shows the moments after their car exploded into a fireball on the driveway of their home in Yardley, Birmingham.

Both of the parents and their two teenage children were asleep when the incident occurred.

Police initially told the family they had put a critical risk marker on their address and urged them to call 999 if they felt in danger and they were offered temporary accommodation while an investigation was underway.

However, the father claims police closed the arson case days later claiming they had no further lines of enquiry.
