Denver weather: Sunny with a chance of storms Thursday

Denverites woke up to a lot more moisture in the air Thursday, as humidity levels increased. Rain showers and thunderstorms could arrive later today.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder, Denver will reach 90 degrees under sunny skies. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing over the mountains could spread across the plains in the afternoon. Denver has a 30% chance from one of these storms that will produce gusty winds and brief heavy rain. The temperature will drop to 58 degrees overnight, with the threat of storms lasting until midnight.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) says the air quality will be good Thursday.

The afternoon showers will move quickly, meaning the flash flood threat is low, NWS forecasters said.

Friday will bring clear skies. Denver will reach 92 degrees, dipping to 61 overnight.

Saturday’s high will be 91 degrees with a low of 57 degrees under clear skies.

Sunday could bring cooler weather.
