Hamas claims 50 hostages killed during Israeli air strikes on Gaza Strip
Hamas releases video of them releasing two elderly women
Hamas says 50 hostages have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, posted on its Telegram channel claiming numerous “Zionist prisoners” had been killed in the strikes.
It wrote: “Al-Qassam Brigades estimates that the number of Zionist prisoners killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of Zionist bombing and massacres reached approximately 50 people.”
There is no way to verify the claims made by the terror group but Israel has unleashed a massive bombardment campaign on Gaza since Hamas attacked on October 7.
Thousands of Hamas members stormed across Israel’s border with Gaza, killing at least 1,400 people – the vast majority civilians.

The terrorists also took at least 224 hostages back to Gaza.
A total of four hostages have been released by Hamas since the attack, including an American mother and daughter as well as two elderly Israeli women.
One of the hostages described being taken into Hamas’s “spider web-like” tunnel system under Gaza.
Israel has been targeting those tunnels which Hamas uses to move around the area undetected often transporting weapons including rockets.

The comments from Hamas come as Qatari negotiators said that all of the civilian hostages could be released if there was a pause in the fighting.
Dr Mohammed Al Khulaifi, senior negotiator and Qatar’s minister of state for foreign affairs, told Sky News the negotiators needed a “period of calm” to secure the hostages’ release.
This appears unlikely, however, as thousands of Israeli troops and armor mass on the border with Gaza in preparation for a ground invasion.
