The owner of the two giant pups, called Thanos and Dunder, let them pick out their own Hogwarts houses as they turned nine and three quarter months old – the same number as the famous train platform where Harry and his friends catch the Hogwarts Express.

The cute TikTok clip posted by @thanosthesaint shows the Saint Bernards, who live in the USA, presented with four bandanas to choose from – Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

As Hedwig’s Theme plays, Thanos is first up to make his selection – and he makes a beeline for the green Slytherin bandana.

Then it’s brother Dunder’s turn to choose his place in the wizarding world, and he heads straight for Hufflepuff.

The pups are seen proudly posing with a sorting hat on their heads wearing their new Hogwarts house bandanas.

Dog lovers and Harry Potter fans alike gushed over the cute way to introduce the dogs to their owner’s favourite franchise, with one TikTok user noting that: “Slytherins and Hufflepuffs make the best buds.”

And it seems that the pups may have been sneaking a read of their owner’s Harry Potter books when she wasn’t looking – when one commenter asked if Thanos and Dunder’s personalities matched the typical traits associated with those housed in Slytherin and Hufflepuff, she replied: “It’s pretty crazy that they really do!”

This pair aren’t the only Saint Bernards who have gained fame on TikTok recently.

When cheeky pup Gigi’s owner suddenly heard the sound of water gushing out in the back garden, he didn’t know quite what to expect.

He soon discovered that his clumsy dog had managed to flood the place by leaning over the side of a giant paddling pool, wagging her tail obviously as water poured out around her.
