King Charles’ eccentric Coronation day breakfast — 6 types of honey and egg ban
Today (Saturday, May 6) is perhaps the biggest in King Charles' life, and what better way to kick it off than with his favourite breakfast.
As workers were busy readying Westminster Abbey this morning for the Coronation, Charles would have been tucking into the same meal he has every day.
He is known for his eccentric requests, from ironed shoelaces to insisting on travelling with his own choice of toilet paper, and his brekkie is no different.

One breakfast staple is actually banned from Charles' plate, his former press secretary Julian Payne revealed.
He said: "I never saw a single boiled egg at breakfast in all the years I worked there.
"The King doesn’t eat lunch, so an early lesson I learnt when out on the road with him was to have a big breakfast or bring a few snack bars with you to keep you going."
As for what he will have eaten this morning, it will come as no surprise that the ecowarrior King goes all organic.
According to Payne, his go-to is "seasonal fruit salad and seeds with tea".

Chef Graham Newbould, a former member of the royal staff, said: "Charles has a healthier option. He’d have homemade bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices."
Newbould also revealed Charles travels the world with a special "breakfast box" – which is exactly as eccentric as it sounds.
He said previously: "The breakfast box goes with him. He has six different types of honey, some special mueslis, his dried fruit and anything that’s a bit special that he is a bit fussy about."
Regarding which fruit is his favourite, and surely the one he chose for today, former royal chef Darren McGrady said: "The instruction was to put two plums and a little juice into the bowl and send it into him for breakfast.
"I’d send in two plums and he would take one so it would come back out after breakfast and I’d put the other plum back into the jar and save it."
