Larry the Cat health latest as Downing Street ‘plan death announcement’
Fans of Larry the Cat have been growing more and more worried that Downing Street’s Chief Mouser is seriously unwell.
Number 10 officials recently said they were "preparing" for the worst. It came as the 16-year-old feline, who has outlasted five UK Prime Ministers, has been under the weather for some time.
But in a new update, a UK Government spokesperson claims that Larry is “happy and healthy”. To prove it, he made a surprise appearance on BBC News.

A Downing Street spokesman told ITV News: "I would say he is happy and healthy". To drive the point home, Larry wondered his way across the street during a BBC broadcast this morning.
The Twitter account dedicated to Larry the Cat responded to a claim he “stole the news again”. The account joked: “Thought I’d best make an appearance on BBC News to reassure you all that I'm alive and kicking x."
But a Westminster source previously said: “Larry is much loved not only in Downing Street but across the country.
“No one wants to think the worst, but unfortunately we must prepare for it.”

Taking to the social media platform, fans from around the world shared their love for the cheeky feline.
One said: “Sending love for Larry the Cat.” Another added: “I’m from Australia, I love Larry, we all do."
A third commented: “There's only one Larry the Cat, in my opinion. When his time comes, I would want another cat with his own name to inherit the post. We don't try to pass off other journalists as the ones deceased. Larry has a legacy of honesty and telling it like it is."

Larry joined number 10 after he was adopted from Battersea in 2011. He was intended to be a cat for the then Prime Minister David Cameron’s children.
But as leadership changed, Larry remained. The Downing Street website says: “Larry spends his days greeting guests to the house, inspecting security defences and testing antique furniture for napping quality.
“His day-to-day responsibilities also include contemplating a solution to the mouse occupancy of the house.”
