The Graceland estate has begun preparations for Lisa Marie Presley’s celebration of life as her gravesite is placed across from her father’s.

Presley, who died at 54 from cardiac arrest last week, will be laid to rest this Sunday at 9am at the family’s Memphis home.

Preparations are underway to prepare her gravesite, which will be positioned along the backyard fountain, alongside her other relatives at Graceland.

The mother-of-four will be buried next to her son Benjamin Keough, who took his own life in 2020, and almost directly across from her famous father’s grave.

Sources told TMZ that a stage with a backdrop is being constructed on the front lawn of the mansion. It is unclear who is scheduled to speak at the service, but it will be open to the public.

In addition, the 24-hour camera feed at Graceland is now facing the front house as the preparations, which began on Tuesday, continue.

Since her death, fans have come to place flowers on the front gate of the estate to honor the singer.

Presley died on January 12 after suffering a second cardiac arrest while she was in the hospital. Her family signed a ‘do not resuscitate’ order.

The 54-year-old only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after she was found by her housekeeper collapsed inside her Calabasas home.

EMTs arriving at her home managed to revive her and she regained a pulse, but she was brain dead on arrival at the hospital, TMZ reported on Friday.

The family rushed to her bedside, where she was in an induced coma and on life support. On learning she was already brain dead they signed a ‘do not resuscitate’ order.

She suffered a second cardiac arrest and died.

Her mother Priscilla, 77, was by her bedside.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,’ Priscilla Presley said in a statement Thursday evening.

Preparations reportedly started on Tuesday and there is also a stage with a backdrop reportedly being build on the front lawn

‘She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.’

Ex-husband Danny Keough – her first of four, with whom she lived – had returned to the house shortly after she collapsed, and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived.

Keough is the father of her actress daughter Riley, 33, and son Benjamin, who took his own life in July 2020 aged 27.

Her fourth husband Michael Lockwood is the father of Presley’s 14-year-old twin daughters Harper Vivienne and Finlay, who have said they will not return to the house their mother died in.

She was at the Golden Globes two days before her death to celebrate Austin Butler’s Best Actor award for portraying her father, where she broke down in tears at the Golden Globes during the actor’s speech.

And on Sunday, the singer-songwriter told the devoted crowd at her father’s Memphis estate that they were the ‘only people who can bring me out of the house,’ to mark his 88th birthday.

Fans said the daughter of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who had not posted on Instagram since August, looked ‘incredibly sad’ and ‘really hurting,’ two years on from the suicide of her son Benjamin Keough, who is buried alongside Elvis at Graceland.

In addition, Presley was so traumatized by her father’s passing – and discovering his dead body at nine years old – that she spent the next 35 years trying to be ‘cured’ by Scientology, according to claims by her former counselor, Karen De La Carriere.

De La Carriere, who was known as the ‘Queen of Scientology,’ was a high-ranking member of the church for 35 years.

Lisa Marie with her parents in 1970. Presley found her father dead at the age of nine

She said that Priscilla Presley, who had turned to Scientology to alleviate the grief of Elvis’s sudden death in 1977, used the church to help control her daughter’s behavioral problems.

As a result, Lisa Marie, who was just 11 years old at the time, and her mother endured a ‘hostile relationship’ and were in ‘mortal combat’ for the rest of their lives, claims De La Carriere.

The counselor became Presley’s auditor – Scientology-speak for counselor – and said that Presley was placed in ‘obedience therapy’ as a schoolgirl.

De La Carriere said that Elvis would never have allowed that to occur if he had lived.
