Mad Vlad’s oligarch ally and suspected KGB spy found dead in rural cottage
A Russian oligarch and suspected KGB spy was found dead in his home.
The oil tycoon Vyacheslav Rovneiko, 59, found mass wealth in the 1990s after creating Russian energy giant Urals Energy with the son-in-law of former Russia President Boris Yeltsin – the predecessor of Vladimir Putin.
His body was discovered on Wednesday night (February 22) as his death coincided within hours of a former politician in Putin's party.

Russian media has not yet given a cause of death of Rovneiko while a police report stated that: "No signs of a violent death were found on his body".
The death of Andrei Bralnin, a former official in Putin's United Russia Party, was announced on Thursday (February 23), as the politician currently on trial for bribery.
According to Russian media reports, doctors from the ambulances attempted to resuscitate Bralnin, but to no avail, as: "They did not give a positive result".
The report also added that investigations were continuing as no violent signs were found on his body.
Rovneiko created his wealth following the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s where oligarchs accumulated mass fortunes by agreeing to buy formerly state-owned companies in deals with former USSR officials.

The 59-year-old founded Urals Energy in 2000 with Leonid Dyachenko, the former son-in-law of previous Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
The tycoon is also thought to have worked as a spy for the KGB, which was the main security agency for the Soviet Union, during the Cold War.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was a KGB foreign intelligence officer for 16 years, before he resigned in 1991, possessing a rank of lieutenant colonel.
