A six-year-old boy was approached by a man who told him he had sweets in his van in a suspected attempted abduction, police say.
The youngster was approached outside his house in Clapham, south London at about 4.30pm last Thursday.
Detectives said he was approached by a man who spoke briefly to him over the garden wall.
He allegedly said he had some sweets and drinks in his van.
The boy ran inside and alerted his mum.
And by the time she came outside the house, the man had left.
The child was physically unharmed during the incident.
The mum did not see the man or the alleged van, according to police.
Police have now launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Officers say he was described by the boy as a brown skinned male, approximately 5ft 6in tall, with short black hair.
He said the suspect was wearing a blue blazer and black trousers.
The Met Police is urging anyone with dash cam footage that may have caught the man to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Mark Pascall, who is investigating the case, said: “Incidents of this nature are very rare and in this instance the boy was not harmed at all.
"Nonetheless, I completely understand the concern it has caused both the boy’s family and the community, and can assure local people that we are taking this incident very seriously.
