Moment man dressed as killer clown is brutally beaten with a bat as US becomes gripped by panic over creepy phenomenon – The Sun

THESE yobs had the last laugh after brutally beating a man dressed as a creepy clown.

Footage of the attack shows the clown stepping in the way of a car before a passenger jumps out with what appears to be a baseball bat.

It comes as the US is gripped by a clown epidemic, with sightings and incidents involving police being reported daily.

Earlier this week thousands of students at Penn State University formed a vigilante mob to hunt down a clown that had been terrorising the campus.

This latest incident, filmed on a smartphone at an unknown location, shows a clown figure emerging in the middle of the road.

A man is heard saying: "What the f*** is that bro?" as he spots the clown.

The driver can then be heard yelling "Get away from my car" as the clown taunts him by refusing to move.

At that point one man jumps from the car holding a stick or bat and lands a swing on the clown's leg.

He then begins beating on the masked figure, before another man joins him in the attack.

Police in towns across the country are warning clowns that provoking the public could lead to them being attacked or arrested.

There have also been reports of clowns physically assaulting people and trying to lure children.

Even the White House has now intervened as the scare reaches fever pitch.

Spokesman Josh Earnest said the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are being consulted on how local police can handle the phenomenon.

"Obviously, this is a situation that local law enforcement authorities take quite seriously and they should carefully and thoroughly review, you know, perceived threats to the safety of the community and they should do so prudently", he said.

Meanwhile, the problem has spread to the UK with a school in Manchester being forced to close on Wednesday when two young pupils were approached by men dressed as clowns.

They drove up to the girls in a black van as they walked to school and invited them "to party".
