Moment tourist is knocked down after trying to take selfie with fuming elephants

Thailand: Tourist thrown to the ground by elephant’s trunk

The heartstopping moment a female tourist was knocked down by an elephant as she attempted to take a selfie with them has gone viral.

Julia Candela had travelled to Thailand in order to visit the animal sanctuary in Chiang Mai, a city in the mountainous north of the Asian nation.

The 22-year-old visited the elephants during the trip, but was left red-faced after her attempts at grabbing a picture with the mammals turned sour.

In footage, Candela was seen smiling as one of the elephants wrapped its trunk around her waist.

Soon, other elephants followed suit.

But according to a Jam Press video, the elephants then turned on the woman, throwing her to the ground.

Despite the panic, Candela, a medical student, is seen giggling in the footage.

Thankfully, she does not appear to be injured either.
