Mum-of-three had half her face burned off in horror acid attack by ex-boyfriend
A beautician who was severely disfigured when her ex-boyfriend threw acid in her face has vowed to continue to help burns victims despite dissolving her victim support organisation.
Half of Vanessa Muenstermann's face was badly burned when her ex-boyfriend attacked her with acid in the German city of Hannover in February 2016.
With a newfound purpose in life, she founded Excellent, an organisation dedicated to helping similar victims, the following year.
However, around a dozen members voted to dissolve the organisation on Saturday 19th June, with its 32-year-old founder saying: "The bureaucracy was getting too much for me."
Excellent raised funds worth several thousands of euros that reached burns victims around the world, helping them to afford medicines, creams and other items necessary for their recovery.
Vanessa, who is mother of three children, said she intends to continue to help burns victims, just no longer through her organisation.
She says it took up a lot of her time and ended up interfering with her physical and psychological recovery from the attack, which left her badly scarred and even took her eye and ear.
She intends to continue to help the three victims who Excellent was assisting at the time of its dissolution, including a girl, aged 3, who scalded her body with boiling coffee.
Vanessa said she would like to work with female victims of male domestic violence in the future.

She penned a book about her horrific ordeal titled 'I Don't Want to Hide Myself' last year. Her attacker, Daniel F., was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Earlier this year, a woman was left badly injured after having acid thrown in her face on her doorstep.
The victim was horrifically attacked in the doorway of her Brighton Home, East Sussex, on May 20.
Police said she was left with "multiple serious injuries" from the attack.
Detective Sergeant Jennifer Pietersen previously said: “The victim has suffered multiple serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
"We are pursuing a number of enquiries to identify and arrest the suspect involved.
“High visibility patrols are being carried out in the city and house to house enquiries are ongoing."
