Pamela Anderson has opened up about the whirlwind romance with a handsome Canadian builder which led to her tying the knot in a surprise Christmas Eve wedding ceremony.

Anderson met local builder Dan Hayhurst at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown after hiring him as her bodyguard in the tiny fishing town of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, Canada.

After spending so much time together she says they quickly hit it off and Hayhurst told the former Playboy model: ‘I’ll marry you in a minute.’

In an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, smitten Anderson said: ‘We’re really happy. I’m happier than I’ve ever been. It’s like full circle… coming home and falling in love with somebody who’s pretty much exactly like me, you know, I think the rest of it was a dream.

‘This seems more like reality and it’s just a good feeling to be home and to be with someone that genuinely cares about me and for who I really am, who I think I am, you know, just like a girl, from the same area and we get along great.’

Underneath her wedding dress Pamela Anderson said she wore a pair of sturdy Hunter rain boots while standing on the muddy ground of her property

DailyMailTV exclusively revealed Wednesday that the former Baywatch bombshell married Hayhurst in an intimate ceremony on the grounds of her home which she bought from her grandparents.

Anderson also shared her stunning wedding photos and video, offering a glimpse into her special day.

Of the wedding she said, ‘It was a short and sweet ceremony with a local pastor and just natural. It was effortless, not stressful. It’s effortless being together’

The model and actress says she wanted the wedding to be on ‘my terms’ and is thrilled it turned out to be such a ‘romantic’ day.

‘I think we both just looked so happy, we’re both just genuinely sincerely happy and giggling and laughing. We’re really, really happy together and he’s hysterical. He’s very funny, and that’s what you need in life.

‘You need someone that makes you laugh and we make each other laugh. And, you know, it’s not the most pleasant of times in the world and somehow I’m happier than I’ve ever been.’

Gentle drums played throughout the wedding ceremony which was blessed by Canadian First Nation.

The ethereal beauty dazzled in a stunning white vintage wedding dress with structured sleeves and a long trailing bridal veil.

Anderson describes her big day as ‘natural’ and ‘spontaneous’.

‘It was a short and sweet ceremony with a local pastor and just very natural. It was effortless, not stressful. It’s effortless being together.

‘It all happened very naturally and very spontaneously and that’s the way it should be, I guess.’

The star says she didn’t spend too much time planning the wedding, admitting her dress was already in her closet and says she wore Hunter boots to wade through the mud.

‘My veil was long and dripping in mud and I thought that was kind of glamorous and sexy. It was just beautiful, just perfect,’ she beamed.

Anderson says she’s only known Hayhurst for a year, but it feels like they’ve been together a lot longer.

The vegan double vanilla, triple coconut cake made especially for Anderson was topped with an antique handblown glass deer ornament to represent her love of animals and a snowy white carnation which symbolizes pure love

Anderson met Hayhurst, who lived locally on Vancouver Island, at the beginning of lockdown last year. Since then, the pair have been together 24/7. Anderson wore a Cinderella blue bridal skirt and cream corseted ensemble styled by Janet Ross

‘He’s a builder by trade and he was hired to be my bodyguard and we spent 24/7 together and we just kind of grew on each other,’ she explained.

‘It just slowly happened. I never would have expected it.

‘I would say one year in dog years is seven years, so it’s kind of like COVID years are like dog years.

‘We’ve spent more time together in a year than most people would do in a lot longer… we’re meant to be together.

‘It was an easy decision and it’s nice to be with someone, especially during these times.’

Anderson is very philosophical about her new romance and believes more people should be in ‘pairs’.

‘I think we’re stronger in pairs and I think we’ve gone through decades of people not wanting to be in relationships, wanting to be with multiple partners,’ she said.

‘I’ve spoken at universities on the dangers of losing human connection and I’m a big believer in human connection and romance. In today’s digital age, I think people are very lonely.

‘I think the sexual revolution gave us emptiness and loneliness, and now we need a sensual revolution.’

The couple have been working with the RASTA Sanctuary, which provides a ‘forever home’ to rescued farm animals on Vancouver Island. The sanctuary posted several photos of Anderson and her new husband on the building site and a video of Anderson feeding some cows

The sanctuary said Anderson surprised them by ‘most generously covering the cost of the cement for the footings in the construction of our new barn and we truly couldn’t be more grateful’

According to recent Instagram posts made by the organization Anderson and Hayhurst have been an ‘incredibly generous and most kind and thoughtful couple.’ It says Hayhurst has been helping them with building a new barn for the animals and Anderson made a generous donation to the project

Despite the storybook romance, though, Anderson says the wedding proposal wasn’t the fairytale you might expect.

‘Since Dan met me, he says, ”I’m going to marry you, I’ll marry you in a minute”. It’s always come up. And then all of a sudden we’re doing it. Not down on one knee, but just that we knew it was going to happen and we thought Christmas Eve was a nice day to do it.’

And the model says she only has a simple wedding band on her ring finger.

‘I’ve had enough diamonds in my life, you know, I’m not interested,’ she said.

She added: ‘It’s funny because people always asked me before, ”why aren’t you with just regular guys?” Well regular guys don’t chase me around, it’s usually the rockstar, you know, it isn’t the regular guys that are persistently chasing you… and I guess that’s what a girl wants.’

As for a honeymoon on a sun kissed beach in a far away place, Anderson says they have no plans.

‘I don’t think anyone is traveling right now and we’re in one of the most beautiful places on earth… honeymoon is every day,’ she said.

After a long and frenetic career in modeling and acting, Anderson says she is finally at peace in her life and is planning her future together with Hayhurst.

The sanctuary said Anderson’s new husband is their builder and is ‘doing a fantastic job both coordinating the project as well as getting down and dirty to get the work done’

Born in Ladysmith in 1967 Anderson was raised in the area throughout her childhood before later moving to Vancouver and on to Los Angeles with Playboy.

And she says that now she’s home she doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.

‘I love it here. I’m lucky that I can quarantine on a big piece of property, right on the water, I have my boat, it’s beautiful,’ she said.

The star admits that she didn’t think she’d be ‘retiring’ so quickly, however.

She said: ‘I was here for an entire year and I thought I have nowhere else to go. I just need to stay here. So we set up our lives and Dan and I are happy here. He doesn’t want to go anywhere. So I’m here.’

It’s Anderson’s fourth wedding, of course, but she says she has no regrets about any of her previous relationships.

She was previously married to rocker Tommy Lee, with whom she shares sons Brandon, 23, and Dylan, 22.

The two were married from 1995 to 1998.

‘I was married on the property I bought from my grandparents 25 years ago, this is where my parents were married and they are still together. I feel like I’ve come full circle,’ Anderson said

The bridal bouquet was loosely wrapped in dusty blue tulle to match the dress and included a blue hydrangea, echoing the ocean and symbolizing the water element of emotion

She wore an antique 1940’s Satin slip and soft blue silk ribbon corset from Lace Embrace with a tulle skirt by Joanna Delaney Bridale and her veil was by Valentino

The actress later married and divorced Kid Rock in 2006.

Then she married and divorced producer Rick Solomon twice — in 2007 and 2013. The first ended in annulment.

‘You have to be brave to fall in love and you have to be even braver to fall in love another time and another time,’ she explained.

‘I feel I’m an example to my friends that say, ‘you’re never bitter, you get over things’, you know, pain is part of life.

‘And if you can embrace the hard times you can get through the good times.’

She added: ‘I don’t regret anything of my past, but I still can’t believe I made it around the world and got home in one piece.

‘Life is experiences. I was really fortunate to have those experiences.’

Anderson – who shot to fame after gracing the pages of Playboy before donning the famous Baywatch swimsuit – is currently writing a memoir and shooting a documentary about her colorful life.

‘I feel like I’m looking at it all with fresh eyes, I’m looking back and writing like, ”Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I did that”. Did I really do that? And that really happened because I just feel like I never left. Like it was a dream.’

‘I’m exactly where I need to be – in the arms of a man who truly loves me,’ Canadian-born Anderson tells DailyMailTV in an exclusive interview. Anderson, originally from Canada, beams in the snaps of the nuptials conducted by a local pastor, during which the couple read traditional vows

Other than renovations of her property, Anderson and Hayhurst have been devoting much of their time to helping a local animal sanctuary and also plan to expand their interests to help other local community groups.

The RASTA Sanctuary, which provides a ‘forever home’ to rescued farm animals on Vancouver Island posted several social media photos of her and her new husband helping out.

Hayhurst is helping the sanitary to build a new barn for the animals while Anderson has donated to the project.

The star added, summing up her year with Hayhurst with a smile: ‘It’s a really fun love story because we have the same interests and we have the same heart, it’s been a really fun year, so far, so good.’
