Nightmare neighbours knocked woman’s teeth out and urinated on war memorial

A woman knocked her neighbour’s two front teeth out and her partner urinated on a war memorial, a court heard.

Amy West and John Farnell had been embroiled in an argument with a neighbour on July 20, 2019.

A young mum in a nearby house asked them to keep the noise down as her babies slept.

Yorkshire Live reported how Farnell shouted back branding her an “oompa loompa” before he and West marched to her front door in Gregg House Road, Sheffield at around 11pm.

Before she could work out who was banging at her door, it flew open and she was punched in the mouth, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Laura Marshall told how West’s victim noticed almost immediately her two upper front teeth had been knocked out and tasted blood.

The pair left after a struggle and West was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Farnell, meanwhile, was charged with affray but was also sentenced for perverting the course of justice, driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance, failing to stop and driving without due care and attention after a crash in April 2020.

The 30-year-old had lied about his car being stolen after he crashing it the day before.

The court also heard he had been drinking at Lloyds bar in Sheffield when he was thrown out.

Farnell then dropped his trousers and urinated on the nearby cenotaph while holding his middle finger in the air.

The couple, both of Follett Road, Sheffield, admitted their charges and were sentenced by the Recorder David Gordon.

Farnell was handed a two-year and two-month sentence and disqualified from driving for two years, and West was handed a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

The Recorder Gordon said he had heard enough to dissuade him from sending her to prison immediately because she had to look after her children.
