One of UK’s narrowest homes being flogged – and it’s just 11ft at its widest

A property thought to be one of Britain's narrowest has been put up for sale.

The Old Brewery is a one-bed townhouse in Bristol's trendy Stokes Croft, which boasts a number of independent shops, bars, restaurants and music venues.

Given the area's prestige, it maybe no surprise that the three-storey home is being flogged for an eye-watering asking price of £300,000.

But it comes with a major catch – at its widest, the home is just 11ft 5ins to the rear, and measures an even smaller 7ft 11ins at the front.

It may be small, but the house packs a lot of character in its 567sq ft (52.7sq m).

The period home features a stunning top-floor balcony with city views, described as the "perfect space for al-fresco dining" and accessed through the property's one bedroom.

The "tastefully refurbished" house also has oak floorboards throughout, under-floor heating and plenty of natural light – there's even a cellar to make up for the lack of space in the home.

The home has been touted as the perfect potential AirBnb rental, but those looking for a family home would be encouraged to know the property is also near a selection of primary schools rated "Good" by Ofsted – although the lack of space may prove a challenge to those with children.

Maggs & Allen, the estate agents selling the bizarrely-shaped property, described it as "quirky".

"The house has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard to provide a highly individual home, conveniently located for access to the City Centre and a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants in Stokes Croft," the advert described.

"The first floor is flooded with natural light from the sash windows to the front and rear. This open-plan space provides a modern high-gloss fitted kitchen with integrated appliances and solid oak worktops. The property widens to the rear which creates a superb living room with open staircase and recessed shelving."
