Prince Andrew will ‘dress up as royal for the day’ at event with King Charles

Disgraced Prince Andrew will "dress up as royal for the day" at a special event with King Charles later this year.

The Duke of York will appear in royal garb at a Royal Victorian Order party alongside his brother, the King of the United Kingdom.

Donning his ermine robes for a celebration of service and personal loyalty to the Royal Family, the Duke is expected to attend and appear at the event alongside other members of the Royal Family.

The disgraced Duke was stripped of his royal roles and duties last year over accusations of sexual abuse which he has repeatedly denied.

One former Member of Parliament and serving member of the Privy Council Norman Baker said the shamed Duke is attempting to "worm his way back" into the public eye.

Mr Baker, speaking to The Sun, said: "Prince Andrew is going to any length possible to worm his way back into public life.

"The only order he should be given is the order of the boot. He is simply being allowed to play dressing up as a royal for the day when really he should be serving a long period of silence."

It comes as Daily Star previously reported King Charles III was expecting the Royal Family to undergo a major shake-up and slimmed down personnel change.

Plans to remove certain members of the Royal Family to save up cash and modernise the The Firm appear to have been scrapped, however, but the King is still keen to move the family into the modern era.

His upcoming coronation has seen a number of modernisations made, with the service expected to ditch a "dated" Coronation staple.

It was previously reported by Daily Star the King and wife Camilla Parker Bowles would bin a key dress code tradition for the sake of comfort.
