Prince Harry devastated as ‘ER’ removed from military uniform – but not Andrew’s

Prince Harry is said to be "heartbroken" after his grandmother's 'ER' initials were removed from the military uniform he donned at a vigil for Her Majesty.
The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex — both dressed in uniform — stood around their grandmother's coffin as she lay in state at Westminster Hall on Saturday afternoon, September 17.
Silence fell as members of the public looked on, with the only sound the grandchildren’s footsteps on the stone.

William was positioned at one end of the coffin facing the north entrance and stood with his hands clasped in front and his head bowed.
Harry was positioned at the opposite end, facing the area of the hall where thousands of people have entered over the last few days.
His emotions are reportedly compounded by the fact that Prince Andrew was allowed to keep the royal cypher despite facing serious allegations of a criminal nature. Prince Williams also has kept the 'ER' as pictures revealed during the vigil.
But a friend told the Sunday Times: "He is heartbroken. To remove his grandmother’s initials feels very intentional."
The prince is said to have considered wearing a morning suit to avoid the embarrassment of the ER being removed from the shoulder of his uniform.
The 'ER' initials are traditionally worn by those 'in service' of the monarch, which wouldn't include Harry after he stepped back from royal duties alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.
The absence of the cypher is thought to be simply because of royal dress regulations.
The news comes as Prince Harry and his brother William displayed "high tension" at the vigil, according to a body language expert.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Adrianne Carter said: "We see very solemn and correct posture from all eight grandchildren.
"When the clip goes to the close up of William we see him clenching his jaw. Jaw clenching happens when someone is feeling high tension and under stress.
"Nothing to see like Williams face but Harry is holding his posture very tightly – again this happens when we carrying tension but this is to be expected in the situation they are in."
