‘Prince Harry should be ashamed at how he’s disrespecting poorly Prince Philip’

There is one thing and one thing only the Ginger Whinger should be doing now and that’s calling Oprah Winfrey and putting his self-indulgent TV journey up his own backside on ice.

Don’t care whether you are prince or pauper you do NOT treat your grandparents with this level of disregard and disrespect.

Prince Philip has been transferred to Barts Hospital in London, the centre of excellence for heart conditions in the whole of Europe.

He’s 99 years old and this is his second week in hospital. You don’t need to be particularly bright to work out that this is serious.

The Queen has spent a lifetime putting on a brave face and tolerating all kinds of awful stuff so she’s never going to admit that she must be worried sick about her husband of 74 years.

You won’t see her wringing her hands in public. The show must go on. It’s her duty. And no matter what you think of the Royal Family it’s a duty she has borne with dignity her entire life.

Can you imagine the absolute awfulness of that 90-minute wallow in self pity featuring a failed American soap actress and James Corden’s new bestie airing at the same time as Philip dies?

If the trailers for Oprah’s Sunday night CBS “no holds barred” interview with the world’s most publicity shy couple are anything to go by, the Royal Family aren’t going to come out of it well.

It’s implied that a life under the Queen’s roof was “unsurvivable” and that dissent was “silenced”. Which makes Her Maj sound like a Mafia Don rather than a 94-year-old great granny who buys waffle makers as Christmas presents.

For anyone to seriously complain that their lot is full of “unimaginable pressures” from a £10million, 12-bathroom Californian mansion while wearing a £4,000 frock (her not him obvs) and dripping in £24k of jewellery is well, a bit rich, to say the least.

These two have wealth, health, youth and a whole world bursting with opportunity to do good and yet they use their time to moan how insufferable their privileged beyond lives have been.

Plus when you’ve actually met victims of genuinely “unsurvivable” events like gang rape, landmines, war and famine (as this duo have) surely you must understand that what you have experienced doesn’t even come close?

During the best of times this is clearly melodramatic nonsense but with your grandad in hospital this is very far from the best of times.

Curiously the couple have relaunched their Archewell Foundation this week too. It’s been updated with a picture of Princess Diana carrying her giggling younger son on her shoulders. A very emotional image given that the now grown boy invokes his mum in his Oprah chat.

The implication being that he feared for his wife’s life if she continued to live in this country with him, as working royals. History repeating itself is the phrase used.

Diana was killed by a drunk driver. In a foreign country. And one of the main reasons she was in that situation in the first place?

A no holds barred TV interview with a supposedly trustworthy broadcaster.
