It seems home schooling wasn't all it cracked up to be for Prince William.

He gave royal fans an insight into his family's private life over the lockdown – and it would have left many surprised.

The future King said he struggled a fair bit with his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Anmer Hall during lockdown last year.

In the BBC's That Peter Crouch Podcast, Prince William revealed his wife, The Duchess of Cambridge, has to to step in "when everything goes wrong" and save him.

And he made an embarrassing confession about his numerical knowledge.

He explained: "“I was a bit embarrassed about my maths knowledge – I can’t even do Year 2 Maths!”

William went on to say: “My patience is a lot shorter than I thought it was and my wife has super patience.

"We're a great tag team where I come in and talk to the children and do stuff – and then over to Catherine when everything is going wrong."

Prince William's brother Prince Harry has spent the coronavirus lockdown in LA with wife Meghan Markle and son Archie after quitting the Royal Family and stepping back from their duties.

Harry said he had been "rolling on floor in hysterics" during their time inside together.

He said: "There’s a hell of a lot of positives that are happening at the same time and being able to have family time — so much family time — that you almost think, ‘Do I feel guilty for having so much family time?'

"You’ve got to celebrate those moments where you are just on the floor rolling around in hysterics.

"Inevitably, half an hour later, maybe a day later, there’s going to be something that you have to deal with and there’s no way you can run away from it."

But he did admit that life is not all easy – and Meghan has to be on hand often when he was looking after little Archie, now 1.
