A Colombian judge was suspended for three months after she conducted a court hearing half-naked from bed while smoking a cigarette.

Judge Vivian Polania violated several administrative regulations, the Judicial Disciplinary Commission in Norte de Santander ruled this week following the incident, news outlet Infobae reported.

The scantily-clad judge, 34, appeared on a Zoom call in what seemed to be her underwear while overseeing a hearing about a car bombing aimed at an army brigade, and the raunchy clip quickly went viral, prompting the investigation into her behaviour.

The disciplinary panel's lengthy 16-page ruling read: "Such a situation is not consistent with the care, respect and circumspection with which a judge of the republic must administer justice, denoting a clear lack of respect from the official."

The ruling revealed that Polania kept her camera off for nearly an hour during the hearing.

When she turned it on, however, showed her lying in bed in what was described as a "deplorable" state and appearning "dishevelled with sleepy eyes" while smoking a cigarette.

The document also claimed she slurred her speech.

A lawyer at the hearing then informed Polania that her camera was on, prompting her to hastily turn it off again.

Polania has now been placed on unpaid leave from now until February after the disciplinary panel deemed her unfit to perform her duties, claiming she didn't respect the parties at the hearing and did not comply with the judicial dress code.

Polania, who was known for her racey snaps long before the scandal, spoke out about the now-notorious hearing to deny that she was half-naked.

She added she had had to lie down during the hearing because she had had an anxiety attack and suffered low blood pressure.

Speaking to Blu Radio, Polania claimed she was overworked which had caused a decline in her mental health.

She also accused the other judges in Cúcuta of bullying her after they threatened her with disciplinary action based on the way she dressed.

However, this is not the first time Polania has faced repercussions for her raunchy outfit choices.

She had been called the "versatile judge" in the past after she posted sexy snaps to Instagram and claimed her good looks earned her promotional offers and discounts from designer clothing companies, prompting a previous investigation into her behaviour.

Polania said of her online success: “A person does not take pictures for the sake of taking them or to have people hit the ‘like’ button.

However, news of the racy content saw the Judgeship Superior Council Section Disciplinary Board investigate Polania's behaviour.

An act of the hearing stated: “According to the content of the news, the room considers that at first instance the judicial worker could face prohibitions as pointed out in the article 154-6.”

The pictures also landed her on the receiving end of savage death threats by gang members – but despite all this, the judge continued to post saucy content for her thousands of Instagram followers.

She said of the investigation: "I am the only woman who does not have the right to wear a bathing suit, because rather, it goes against the dignity of the administration of justice."
