A sick Russian TV presenter has taken to the air to brag about how quickly world-ending nukes could reach London.

The vile claims come from Vladimir Solovyov, who was discussing the capabilities of hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.

He said: "Everybody there is getting hysterical today because it can get to London from Belarus in 9 minutes”.

The video was posted to Twitter with English subtitles by the creator of the Russian Media Monitor, Julia Davis.

Able to carry a nuclear warhead on board, the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal is claimed by the Missile Defense Project to have a range of 2,000km.

Chillingly, Solovyov said: "The Killjoy missile also known as Kinzhal has a range of over 2,000 km and can reach a speed 12 times the speed of sound, 9 minutes and 'hello London!' or rather 'Hello and goodbye London!'"

Discussion of Russia’s ability to destroy the UK has been nothing new since the invasion of Ukraine.

In September Andrey Gurulyov, a deputy in the State Duma said Russia’s nukes could turn the UK into a “Martian Desert”.

His claims came as he tried to flex muscles about why Russia shouldn’t fear NATO’s policy of collective response to aggression towards member countries.

He said: “[President Joe] Biden says there would be a reaction, per their Article 5, but if we turn the British Isles into a Martian desert in 3 minutes flat, using tactical nuclear weapons, not strategic ones, they could use Article 5, but for whom? A nonexistent country, turned into a Martian desert? They won't respond".

The scary claims come as a perceived answer to the UK’s outspoken support for Ukraine since the war started.

Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister for much of the invasion was a leading ally of Kyiv and paid multiple visits to the wartorn nation.

It has also played a big role in training Ukrainian forces.

The Ukrainian government said: “We have trained 27,000 members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2015, and in the last year we have provided hundreds of rockets, five air defence systems, 120 armoured vehicles and over 200,000 pieces of non-lethal military equipment".
