Two people critical & 2 kids hurt as bus collides with car in fiery crash

TWO children are among five people hurt after a city bus and car collided in a fiery crash in Los Angeles.

First responders said two people are in critical condition following the crash involving a city bus in South Los Angeles just before 8.30pm local time.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the vehicle caught fire after colliding with the bus.

Two people from the car were taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to LAFD.

Two children inside the car and the bus driver had lesser injuries, an alert from the agency said.

The five injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance, including the four in the car and the bus operator.

According to the bus driver, six people were on the bus when the vehicles crashed and they all self-evacuated with no injury.

The collision occurred on South Normandie Avenue near Manchester Square, authorities said.

Authorities say that the injuries are of varying severity.

The status of the injured people is unknown.

The cause of the crash has not yet been revealed.
