Ukrainian civilians have survived a nerve-wracking experience after driving their cars over landmine left behind on the main road by Russian troops.

Drivers were seen crossing over the landmines one-by-one, navigating their cars across the landmines where they came just inches away from death.

Civilians driving in Borodyanka, a town in Kyiv Oblast, had to contend with rows of mines that were scattered across the road diagonally, meaning any vehicle attempting to drive across in a straight line would likely set them off and be destroyed.

But some brave Ukrainians decided they weren't going to let the mines stop them, carefully driving over the cluster of explosives.

Rows of mines placed four deep across a bridge meant civilians wanting to pass through the potentially explosive blockade would have to angle their cars and turn through the gaps.

Angling their tyres parallel to the explosive devices, the queue of cars managed to squeeze through the blockade unharmed.

Drivers patiently waited as other road users made the slow crawl through the dangerous field of mines, waiting for vehicles to pass through the heavily mined stretch of road.

One driver, the first to go through the blockade, had a small trailer attached to the back of their vehicle.

Four mines passed under the driver and trailer without so much as a scratch to either the vehicle or the extra weight on the back.

A bump of the mines would definitely prove fatal for the drivers, but all three drivers reportedly made it through without so much as a scratch.

The second of the three vehicles was a much larger vehicle, with the wheels coming down much closer to the mines, while the third driver lined its wheels up a bit awkwardly, Daily Mail reported.

It is unclear how the mines were spotted as any driver approaching at speed would not have had enough time to notice them and could have easily driven on and over the potentially fatal blockade.
