Wills and Kate ‘open’ to sending Prince George to boarding school, says insider
Prince William and Kate Middleton are "open" to sending their 8-year-old Prince George to boarding school, a source has claimed.
Prince George turned eight earlier this month, celebrating with a football cake and a Zoom call from the Queen.
The prince's eighth birthday marks a significant moment for the royal, as it was the the age at which both Prince William and Harry started to board at Ludgrove School in Berkshire before then moving to Eton at 13.
However, reports suggest the Cambridges are considering a few different options for George and not just those traditionally favoured by royals.

"Kate and William are open to sending George to boarding school in the future and have already checked out a few, but they feel 8 is a little young and want to wait until he’s slightly older," an insider for US weekly has revealed.
"George going to school is a decision the Cambridges will make as a family. They’d never force George to go unless he wants to and they feel it’s right."
Currently the eight-year-old prince attends school with his sister Princess Charlotte at Thomas' Battersea Prep School in London, while the youngest sibling, two-year-old Prince, Louis, attends Willcocks Nursery in Kensington.

According to the insider, the future king is “keen” on the idea of going to school away from home, though “he’s settled at St Thomas’ Battersea and has lots of friends there.”
The Duke and Duchess are thought to be considering a flexible boarding plan for Prince George and a recent report suggested the Cambridges had enquired about Berkshire real estate, as well as scouted a number of schools in the area.
"William and Kate have recently visited schools in the Berkshire area, which has got a lot of people talking," a source told New Idea.
Royal watchers are interested to see how tradition is followed, in light of the royal shake-up of the Sussexs' move to California.
Prince George's grandfather, Prince Charles, attended Cheam School, in Hampshire, following in the footsteps of his own father, Prince Philip, who took up his place at the same boarding school aged eight.
