A woman claiming to be missing Madeleine McCann is said to have suffered a skull fracture that erased her memory.

The mysterious fracture erased parts of Julia Wendell's childhood, with the 21-year-old claiming she can not remember certain parts of her past.

An at-the-time eight-year-old Julia was left unable to speak or walk for more than a year after a brain injury, according to medical records reportedly obtained by private investigator Dr Fia Johansson.

According to RadarOnline, over 500 pages of Julia's medical records were acquired by Dr Johansson, who is now attempting to figure out who took Julia to hospital where she received emergency surgery to reduce brain swelling.

Julia, who claims she is the Leicestershire girl who went missing in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007, has since recalled a horrifying experience during her childhood in Poland, one of her few memories.

She remembered another Polish girl hiding with her in a bathroom stall, and read from a journal.

Julia recalled in an interview with RadarOnline: "We shouted and cried, panicked, we didn’t want to (leave the) toilet."

Dr Johansson believes those that were looking after Julia had "wanted to get rid of her", with her allegedly forced into taking 35 prescription pills a day at one point in her childhood.

Dr Johansson said: "It shows that some of them or all of them or one of them wanted to get rid of her. Or complicate her life where she would not be able to walk or talk or say anything. It seems like they purposely tried to do it."

Speaking on the hospital records, which show Julia entered in a near-comatose state on February 17, 2009, Fia added: "She does not remember any of it."

Dr Johansson previously travelled to Poland and said there were no hospital records relating to the first five years of Julia's life, leading her to conclude that she was trafficked into Poland.

Julia's family have denied her claims.

Julia and Dr Johansson are still awaiting the results of DNA and genetics tests.
