Horror moment young mum, 25, is left fighting for her life after smashing into metal poles while sledging

THIS is the horrific moment a woman smashed into metal workout equipment while out sledging.

The 25-year-old, identified only as Maria, spun out of control before slamming into the obstacle in Russia.

She was left with a broken pelvis and shoulder.

Fortunately, the man who filmed her in the city of Almetyevsk was friends with the top local bone surgeon and called him immediately.

Eyewitness Anton Krasilov said: “I was filming my kids on their snow tubes and accidentally caught this poor woman as she sped downhill.

“Her friends called the ambulance and I phoned my surgeon friend.

“He had just finished his shift but rushed back to the hospital and was fixing her broken bones for hours.”

The mother-of-one is now in intensive care.

She had been enjoying Russia’s extended New Year holidays with friends when the accident occurred.
