SEC will check dozens of crypto-currency hedge funds

Crypto-currency hedge funds are the focus of the regulator.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will check dozens of hedge funds, crypto-currencies, which are known for their risky trading strategies and higher rates compared to traditional investment funds. Regulators want to make sure that 100 crypt hedge funds provide what they promise investors.

Private hedge funds are not the focus of the SEC's attention for the first time, this department is always interested in complex trading strategies that can be dangerous for novice investors.

In addition, the SEC is already testing the original offer of coins, also under the pretext of protecting investors from transactions that appear to bypass securities laws.

Perhaps regulators are simply looking for what standards and requirements can be applied to Bitcoin hedge funds. The SEC's main priority is to ensure that hedge funds match what fund managers describe in their investment documents.

The regulator can also check the risk of breach of security of exchanges, after hacking Coincheck in January, writes CCN.
