Senior civil servant Sue Gray is to hand her completed report into Downing Street lockdown parties to Number 10 on Wednesday and the Government has promised to publish its findings. Her previous interim report criticised leadership within Number 10 and said some events should not have taken place. Speaking ahead of publication, Conservative MP Sir Roger Gale said: “I believe that the Prime Minister has misled the HoCs from the despatch box. That is a resignation issue. I have made my own position clear. It is now a matter for my Conservative parliamentary colleagues to decide whether or not to instigate a vote of no confidence.”

George Eustice refuses to say whether people should lose jobs over partygate
George Eustice has refused to be drawn on whether people in Number 10 should lose their jobs over partygate.
Speaking to Times Radio, the Environment Secretary said that Boris Johnson had already made changes to the “structure and how things work” in Downing Street.
He added: “I think the reality is that fixed penalty notices have been issued to those people who the police judged shouldn’t have been at those particular events.
“Just like the Prime Minister they should pay those fixed penalty notices and we have got to learn from this and make changes to ensure that the culture that allowed that boundary between a drink or a leaving do, a sort of leaving speech at the end of a day in a working environment, allowed that to be blurred to what now looks like parties in some cases.
“We have just got to make sure that that can’t happen.”
‘Resignation issue’ Sir Roger Gale questions PM’s leadership
Sir Roger Gale has “made [his] position clear” and implored his Conservative peers to “decide whether to investigate a vote of no confidence” in Boris Johnson.
Writing on Twitter, he said: “I believe that the PM has misled the HoC’s from the despatch box.
“That is a resignation issue. I have made my own position clear. It is now a matter for my Conservative parliamentary colleagues to decide whether or not to instigate a vote of no confidence.”
