Nigel Farage warned Boris Johnson against taking lessons from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in combating climate change. The leading GB News host said the Prime Minister’s decision to take a private jet back to London from the COP26 was reminiscent of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Speaking last night, Mr Farage said: “Boris, if you’re going to stand up there and preach to the world, don’t fall into the same trap that Harry and Meghan did.”
Harry and Meghan have been criticised for taking a private jet to events about climate action.
The Duke and Duchess recently travelled from New York City back to California on a private jet just hours after speaking at an event that advocated cutting US emissions in half by 2030.
Mr Farage told GB News viewers: “Boris Johnson left COP26 on a private jet to attend dinner at the Garrick Club.
“It is said the PM flew 400 miles to the engagement in London, attended by Conservative peers and the big climate change sceptic, ironically, Lord Moore.”

He continued: “It has led to accusations of double standards after urging other countries to do everything possible to pledge lower emissions and warning they could be judged by their children if they fail to act.
“An average private jet journey emits more than ten times as much greenhouse gas as someone catching the same trip on an economy class flight.
“And 150 times more than a railway trip.
“Boris, if you’re going to stand up there and preach to the world, don’t fall into the same trap that Harry and Meghan did, where they kept telling us about our social responsibility while using private jets.

“It just doesn’t work.”
Labour has since accused Mr Johnson of “hypocrisy” after he flew back to attend a Daily Telegraph reunion at an exclusive private members club, according to the Daily Mirror.
Anneliese Dodds, the Labour Party chair, said: “This is staggering hypocrisy from the Prime Minister.”

She added: “After warning world leaders it’s one minute to midnight to prevent climate catastrophe, Boris Johnson clocked off from COP26, jumped in his private jet and flew down to London for dinner at a gentleman’s club with a self-confessed climate change sceptic.
“It seems that when it comes to taking action to tackle the climate crisis, there’s one rule for the Conservatives and another rule for the rest of the world.”
A spokesperson for No 10 said the journey was taken with consideration of “time restraints”.
Charles Moore, a former editor of the Daily Telegraph, also attended the event.
Lord Moore, who was recently handed a life peerage by Mr Johnson, has written sceptically in the past about climate change.
