At least 30 people injured as car ploughs into department store in horror scenes

Around 30 people are feared injured after a vehicle reportedly mounted and crashed into a shop window, ploughing down pedestrians in its path.

Emergency services have cordoned of a street in Berlin, Germany where a reported 10 casualties are being treated at the corner of Rankestraße and Tauentzienstraße.

According to the police, the driver of the car is being questioned over whether he deliberately drove through people at around 10.15am on Wednesday.

Celebrity John Barrowman says he has seen the devastating scenes in Berlin and fears it resembles a terrorist attack although this has not been confirmed by the authorities.

The actor tweeted: "We think we have witnessed a terrorist attack here in Berlin we’re not sure there’s a lot of people dead bodies all over the place we’ve seen a car that came down the road and ended up in a storefront covering three city blocks it’s pretty horrific."

Crouching beside a tree on the street for his own protection and a flashing fire engine parked behind him, John recorded a video speaking on his view of the incident.

John claims to have seen a dead body in the middle of the road.
