A twisted killer who launched a cold-blooded fatal axe attack on his ex-girlfriend has been jailed for life and will serve a minimum term of 32 years in prison.
Andrew Burfield, 51, pleaded guilty to the murder of Katie Kenyon, 33, midway through his trial after she went missing on April 22.
The mum-of-two was found dead in a makeshift shallow grave in Gisburn Forest in the Forest of Bowland, Lancashire.

Burfield's shock confession comes after he told Preston Crown Court in August that he wasn't behind her death.
He switched his plea three days into his three-week trial on Wednesday (November 16).
Burfield, of Burnley, claims Katie "bet" him that he could not hit her can of Coke with his axe whilst they were having a picnic.
He said that it would "take her arm off" so decided to throw the axe towards a tree but it accidentally hit her in the head.
But a Home Office pathologist said Katie's body was found with at least 12 blows to her head.
She was located seven days after she disappeared.
Katie was found in a secret grave which was so well concealed that forensic experts couldn't see it.

Her body was only recovered when Burfield attended the scene and directed police to the area of her remains.
Prosecutors said Burfield dug a grave the day before she went missing.
Mr David McLachlan previously said: "It’s the prosecution case that Andrew Burfield had been out on that night on an important mission and that was in order to dig a grave and it was to dig Katie Kenyon’s grave.
"He was in the area where her body would later be recovered for just under one hour."
