Four chilling theories in disappearance of Levi Davis from body spotted off cruise ship to fleeing from Somali drug gang | The Sun

LEVI Davis has been missing since the end of October after travelling to Barcelona.

The 24-year-old was last seen on CCTV leaving a pub and since then various theories have emerged about what might have happened to him.

He made the journey to the Spanish alone after staying in Ibiza for a week, arriving in the city at around 7pm.

The rugby player-turned-reality star performed on X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 with fellow rugby players Ben Foden and Thom Evans as part of the group Try Star.

In 2020, he starred in the E4 dating series Celebs Go Virtual Dating.

Levi made history that year when he was the first rugby union player to come out as bisexual while still playing.

Here are the various theories about Levi’s disappearance.

OWED MONEY TO DRUG GANG

In recent days, it's emerged that Levi may have been lured to Barcelona by Somali criminals, who he owed money to.

The amount he owed was put at around 115,000 euros – almost £102,000.

A private investigator who’s helping the family has revealed Levi may have fled his flat two years ago to escape a drug gang.

"There is a significant link between a Somali drug and another Somali drug gang in Barcelona and it's alleged from sources he owed a sizeable debt,” Gavin Burrows told The Sun Online.

"This began two years ago, resulting in Levi running from his apartment as he believed he was in danger.”

POISONED

Such was the amount that Levi reportedly owed, it’s claimed he feared he would be poisoned by the gang.

“He had adopted a frenzied lifestyle and was in a very delicate situation,” an unnamed member of the team of private detectives told La Vanguardia newspaper.

“The truth is he was sure they were chasing him. In fact he was convinced they had tried to poison him on one occasion.”

DROWNED IN THE SEA

Around the time Levi disappeared, a person was sighted at sea, which begged the question of whether a chance was missed to locate him.

"Davis's friend living in Eivissa also pointed out that a day later cruise ship workers reported that a person was in the sea," said the member of the detective team.

"Shortly after, the search operations were suspended because no one was missing on board the ship, neither the crew nor the passengers.”

BLACKMAILED

Levi's foster mother, Susanne Balfour confirmed that he had mentioned a blackmail threat in a video posted on social media that has since been deleted.

"He might just be frightened, he did say in that video that his life was in danger, I don't know whether he's running from something, I just don't know,” she told Sky News.

"Levi said he needed to get out of Ibiza, when his friend asked why he just said he needed to get out.

"He was actually on a ferry from Ibiza going to Barcelona, but that was the last thing he heard from him."

Burrows claimed his investigations have confirmed that was the case, but added: “We're yet to confidently determine what about”.
