Missing cars found in same spot as footballer Troy Deeney’s stolen Lamborghini

Nine more luxury stolen cars have been discovered at the same car park where Watford captain Troy Deeney's stolen £180,000 Lamborghini was found.

Matthew Whelan, 41, the UK's most tattooed man who is also known as The King of Ink Land, called officers when he saw the supercar at a secure car park near his home in 2017.

Nine other luxury vehicles have now also been recovered by police at the same car park.

Officers found Mercedes, BMW and Audis on Tuesday, February 16, at the underground car park off Bordesley Green East in Stechford, BirminghamLive reports.

They were worth an astonishing £300,000.

The location, used by local residents, is right opposite Stechford Police Station.

West Midlands Police said the operation was the biggest recovery of stolen vehicles from one single "PNC check" in 20 years.

Mr Whelan also took video footage as police recovered the new stolen vehicles on Tuesday.

He said: "It was quite dramatic. Car after car was taken out of the car park and taken away on recovery vehicles. All very expensive high-powered cars.

"This has happened before. I helped police to recover Troy Deeney's stolen Lamborghini a few years ago.

"At the time I reported a suspicious individual by our secure car park and challenged him.

"I gave the police my security electronic key so they could gain access and we then found Troy Deeney's stolen Lamborghini."

He added: "Residents are not happy that the car park is being used for criminal activities. They pay ground rent for the property and car park with additional maintenance.

"There is a lot of suspicious activity noticed by residents and cars being parked in people's allocated spots.

"The police neighbourhood team should be more regular in contact with us and do routine checks."

Sheldon Police had taken to Twitter by posting pictures of the vehicles which were recovered.

They tweeted: "PC's Amer and Azadi have recovered high powered vehicles to the value of £300,000 and over today.

"In total 9 vehicles have been recovered alongside some dangerous weapons including a machete and Rambo knives.

"Enquiries are ongoing. #nowheretohide#saferyardley "

A second tweet said: "In 19 years service this is the biggest single find of stolen vehicles from one proactive PNC check that I can think of!!! £300,000’s worth of stolen vehicles recovered in 4 hours! Hats off to PC Amer and PC Azadi Stunning work!"
