Prince Harry is currently “panicky” about the health of the Queen after he missed Prince Philip’s final moments, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke of Edinburgh passed away only months shy of his 100th birthday in April this year.
At the time, it was reported that Harry "felt guilty" that he had not been able to say goodbye to his great-grandfather in person, as he was living in the US with his heavily-pregnant wife Meghan Markle.
More recently, the Queen has been suffering from her own health scares, and was forced to cancel an appearance at the COP26 Global Climate Summit after a short stay in hospital.
Now, speaking on the Royally Us podcast, royal commentator Christine Ross suggested that the Duke of Sussex is fearing a repeat of Prince Philip’s final moments were the Queen’s health to take a turn for the worse.
"I think that he’s probably so disappointed that he wasn’t able to be with Prince Philip in those final days," she claimed.
"So I’m sure that with that loss being so recent, he is very panicky any time the Queen sneezes.
"He cares about her so much, they seem to be very very close. He named his daughter after her, so clearly he cares very much.
"And I’m sure it’s difficult knowing her age and health, that it could happen at any time."
Despite being advised to rest by doctors, the Queen continued to record a message, broadcast at the climate conference.
And, commentators noticed that, while she praised Prince William and her son Prince Charles for the work they had done on raising climate change awareness, the Queen failed to mention Prince Harry.
However, soon after the Queen’s message was aired, the Sussexes made a pledge that their Archewell organisation would be cutting its carbon emissions, aiming to be net-zero by 2030.
The Queen is yet to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet, and with Christmas approaching, commentators have been speculating whether Harry and Meghan might visit the UK for the festive season.
Despite this, the Sussexes have remained private about their plans for their daughter's christening, and Harry didn't make the trip across the pond for a recent ceremony to thank the donors of a statue in Princess Diana's memory.
