Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward found guilty of assaulting Sinitta – The Sun

REAL Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward has been found guilty of assaulting So Macho singer Sinitta.

The verdict comes after the pop star accused Ward of being racist before she made an allegation of assault, a court heard today.

Real Housewives star Dawn, 43, is accused of attacking the So Macho singer after she told ‘barefaced lies’.

Ward was back in court today as the assault trial involving the pair resumed.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Ward is accused of attacking the So Macho singer – whose full name is Sinitta Malone – at a posh London restaurant.

Ward told Westminster Magistrates Court today: "Initially she tried to accuse me being racist, but then at a later date she dropped it and left that part out of the allegation."

The row erupted when Sinitta confronted the mum-of-four over accusing her of spreading rumours on Twitter about mutual friend TV presenter, Lizzie Cundy, having an affair.

Giving evidence Ward added: "Every time I've tried to speak she's screaming 'youre a liar, you're a f****** liar' and she's leaning over the table and pointing in my face, really aggressively.

"I carried on trying speak but it was like she was trying to stop me from telling the people at the table the truth and explain.

"Because she was pointing and screaming at me I said I would throw the Champagne over her, but I would never threaten to glass anyone, I would never do that.

"I was trying to leave but she kept saying more things to get me back. I lashed out and said she was a has been and was hanging on to Simon Cowell's coat tails.

"I wasn't even angry, we were to have lunch and sort this out. I didn't hit her in this face, I prodded her in the arm to get her attention.

"I just threw the napkin down, I didn't see where it hit her, it looks like her arm.

"She was saying 'go on hit me' and I tried to get her hand away from my face because she was close.

"You can't see it in the footage because it happened before this clip."

Sinitta previously claimed WAG Ward – married to former footballer Ashley Ward – threatened to glass her with a champagne flute.

Sinitta also suggested Dawn Ward’s husband had cheated on her when she was allegedly attacked by the reality TV star, a court has heard.

Businesswoman Claire Johnson, who is also known as Caudwell, was at the lunch.

She later told police Sinitta had been "accusatorial, aggressive", and had been "critical" of Ward, "questioning her marriage and the fidelity of her husband".

Ms Johnson said: "Straight away Sinitta lied and Dawn said 'I have got nowhere to go with this'.

"She basically accused Dawn of starting this conversation, this argument.”

Ms Johnson said they had spent three hours on a train to get to the meeting in the hope of a fresh start and then "she (Sinitta) barefaced lied, it upset her (Ward)".

Ward then said "this champagne might as well go all over you" but she did not throw the drink, the court was told.

It was alleged today in court that Sinitta set up a fake Twitter account in the name of an Australian murder victim to attack Ward.

Lawyers defending Ward, 42, accused Cowell’s ex of being in contempt of court by setting up the account in the name of a murder victim who was stabbed in the eyes.

Lisa Judge, defending, told Westminster Magistrates' Court: "After being given a clear direction not to tweet about her evidence, she tweeted during the early hours of the morning.

"At 3.21am she tweeted 'Can't sleep after the lies and grilling today. I'm no saint but I've never hurt anyone or said bad things about their family.'
"That goes out on the world wide web, including a witness to give evidence.

"It was a grossly inappropriate breach of the order given on the last day of the hearing.

"It clearly shows the credibility of this woman who is trying to engage social networks to affect the evidence.

"This tweeting in clearly contempt of court designed to malign Mrs Ward.

"Investigations have been concluded and it has been determined that the Twitter account relates to a lady who was brutally murdered by someone and stabbed in the eyes in Australia – that is the profile picture of the account."

Westminster magistrates court was earlier shown CCTV of reality star Ward throwing a napkin at Simon Cowell's ex.

The pair were dining in London's Belgravia with TV presenter Lizzie Cundy, 45, when a row erupted.

Sinitta, 52, claims the wife of the former Derby and Blackburn striker Ashley, hit her in the chest and face.

She told the court: "She threatened to put a champagne glass in my face if I didn't shut up."

Sinitta is said to have been left "shocked" and "humiliated" after allegedly being shoved at the Salmontini restaurant in central London on April 1 last year.

Former I’m A Celeb contestant Sinitta told the court in February: “She was getting angry and stood up and shoved me. First of all she struck me in my chest, second time hitting me on the face.

“I was really embarrassed. There was lots of shouting and swearing. I was trying to save face and diffuse everything.

“The second time I don’t know if she was deliberately trying to hit me.”

Sinitta added: “I was so humiliated and embarrassed because she was shouting out rude things about my friends and family.

“She was aggressive, she was intimidating she was telling me to shut my effing mouth.

“At one point she threatened to put the glass in my face if I didn’t shut up.

“It was a champagne glass because they were drinking champagne.”

She claims she was then left to pick up the bill after Ward stormed out.

Sinitta said: “She said ‘you can buy my champagne bitch.'”

The trial was adjourned in February due to time constraints.

Mum-of-four Ward, of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, denies assault.

The trial continues.
