Prince Harry is probably steering clear of the UK due to his "tricky relationship" with Camilla, a royal expert claims.
The army veteran and wife Meghan Markle, along with their children Archie and Lilibet are all expected to be at his proud creation of the Invictus Games this weekend in the Netherlands.
As the Sussexes watch former military personnel battle it out on sports fields, courts and tracks, eyes will also be on them after reportedly claiming it is “too dangerous” to travel to the UK.
Concerns over security have been cited as Harry's reason for not returning home since his mother's statue unveiling, as the UK government pushes to downgrade his protection.
Royal writer Robert Jobson, takes a different view and suggests what really puts him off stepping foot in Britain is his father's wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.
Robert told the Mirror: "In the Hague he will be feted. His brothers and sisters in arms, past and present, rightly praise the Afghanistan veteran for giving back to the armed forces and not forgetting them.
"Back in the UK, particularly with his own family, his pending book means he is not cut the same slack.
"His tome is likely to tackle his tricky relationship with the Duchess of Cornwall, who was confirmed as the future Queen Consort in February by our Queen and is probably the real reason he is staying away.

"Can you imagine how excruciating it would be over dinner if somebody was to ask what’s in the soon to be published Random House book about them?"
With Harry and Meghan being so close to the royals when they make the trip to the Netherlands, there has been rumours over the couple making the trip to at least see the Queen, who will celebrate her 96th birthday in the same week as the Games.
According to Robert, this is unlikely as he added: "I am a big fan of the Invictus Games, and all Harry has achieved with it. I reported on it in London and Australia where it went down a storm.

"The international competition – taking place from April 16 to 22 – inspires the rehabilitation of injured or sick military personnel and veterans from across the globe, by giving them the challenge of competing in sporting events like the Paralympics.
"His determination to keep it going is commendable.
"Now, the question is will he pop over to Britain to wish his grandmother, the Queen, a happy 96th birthday on April 21?
"The reality is it is highly unlikely, given the schism he has caused in the family.

"Harry also brought a legal challenge against the UK Home Office after being told he would no longer be given the ‘same degree’ of personal protective security when visiting from the US, despite offering to pay for it himself.
"The royal, who now lives at Montecito, California, with Meghan, 40, and their children Archie, and Lilibet, claimed he wanted to bring them to visit from across the Atlantic, but ‘does not feel safe’ when visiting under the current security arrangements. Surely, this is just another excuse?
"Is the Hague any less safer than Westminster Abbey for his grandfather Philip’s service of thanksgiving, where the Queen led her family and the crowned heads of Europe in tribute to her late husband?"
