Royal fans enjoying a spot of monarch-watching at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration this long Bank Holiday Weekend have been left delighted by just how much one young monarch looks like his grandmother.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's eldest son, Prince George, 8, looked every inch a monarch-in-waiting as he waved to the crowds from the first carriage of a procession to Trooping the Colour on Thursday morning.

And my word didn't he look like his beloved grandmother, Princess Diana.

One Royal fan was quick to point out just how remarkable the similarities are.

Moments after the Cambridge children were unveiled riding in the first carriage alongside Kate Middleton and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, she tweeted: "Prince George more Spencer every day, his resemblance to his grandmother Princess Diana is growing."

And others were quick to agree.

One quipped: "Prince George looks so much like a Spencer. How adorable they all are."

Whilst another added: "Prince George is a chip off the old block ain't he."

And others felt his dad was also clear to see in his features, saying: "Prince George looking so very much like Prince William."

An adorable moment between George's younger brother Prince Louis and his sister Prince Charlotte was caught on camera as the jubilee celebrations got underway at the Trooping the Colour event on Thursday morning.

Prince Louis was clearly excited for the carriage ride at the Queen's Trooping of the Colour but after a fit of 'Olympic' level waving big sister Princess Charlotte had clearly seen enough and removed him from the fray before mum Kate Middleton could.

To the delight of the crowd, Louis worked his arm like a steam piston before Charlotte intervened.

With a flick of her wrist, she pulled Louis' arm down, leaving the little Prince with a slight frown on her face, before he began waving again.

Reacting to the hilarious moment on Twitter, one person said Charlotte had displayed peak big sister vibes.
