Teacher accused of sex with schoolboy, 15, was ‘too short for the position’

A married teacher accused of romping with a schoolboy was "too short" to have sex in a doggy-style position, a court heard.

Kandice Barber, 35, did not even reach his shoulders as he was so tall, jurors were told.

She is also accused of straddling the boy in her 4×4 car and then performing a sex act in a wooded area.

Barber denied the trysts ever took place, with her lawyer questioning the logistics of the "tiny" supply teacher having sex standing up with the 15-year-old boy.

Amersham Law Courts heard she had been convicted last year of sending a video to the boy.

Nadia Chbat, defending, on Tuesday questioned the claims the boy met Barber for sexual activity on three occasions in 2018.

She asked: "You told the police that you were stood behind her. You had pulled your clothes down.

"You accept she is quite tiny, only about five feet isn't she, so you were taller than her at the time, weren't you?"

She went on: "You did not even think she could reach your shoulders at the time would she?"

The lawyer questioned the boy over claims he had been given a pregnancy scare by Barber, saying a condom had been used and he had seen no problems with it.

In cross-examination, the boy could not name the specific dates when alleged sexual activity had taken place.

The court heard Barber parked at the side of a main road so the boy could perform a sex act before they left the car and she carried out a sex act.

Ms Chbat said: "What was the need to get out of the car?

"Instead, a decision was made to get out of the car and walk into the wooded area."

In the wooded area was where the boy said she performed a sex act, she added.

The boy agreed with the description of events and said they had to get out of the car because she had parked next to a busy main road.

In a police interview, the schoolboy said Barber had sent him multiple illicit images of herself and a video.

Barber, of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, denies three counts of causing or inciting a child aged under 16 years to engage in a sexual act in 2018.

The trial continues.
