‘The Naked Carpenter’ charged with trying to murder policeman with scissors
A man who was charged with trying to murder a cop with a pair of scissors is in fact a naturist former soldier who calls himself “The Naked Carpenter.”
Robert Jenner, 48, was arrested in Maidstone, Kent and charged with attempted murder following a violent incident in the town.
Last week, a police constable in his 50s was airlifted to a London hospital to treat stab wounds he suffered on Thursday (June 15) night, but has since been discharged and is currently recovering in his home.
The emergency airlift came after emergency services were called to a block of flats in Maidstone at around 8pm, with witnesses claiming that around 30 cops were seen swarming the building.
One local woman said: “It started off with one police car, then they all just swarmed around and ran into the building. It looked very intense.
“An ambulance pulled in and they brought someone out. He looked as if he’d been hit on the head.
“They then took a second person out, who was in handcuffs and put him in the back of a police vehicle.
“A forensic van came at 11pm, someone went into the building wearing a hazmat suit and then left.”
The alleged attacker, a former soldier, has professional photos of him showing him using power tools in the buff.
One photo showed him leaning towards a wall in a kitchen with his bare backside out in what appears to be the world’s least hygienic photoshoot.
Despite the hilarity of Robert’s antics, Kent Police were quick to point out the severity of the incident.
Kent Police deputy chief constable Peter Ayling said: "This incident shows that policing can, at times, be dangerous and unpredictable.
"In Kent Police any assault on a police officer going about their duty is entirely unacceptable and will be met with the full force of pursuit and investigation.
"Our thoughts are with the officer and his family at this time."
Jenner is set to appear in Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow (June 20).
