Olivia the Corgi, famous for her internet videos with Hammy, has died after a tragic health emergency.
Her owner, Chris, shared the news in an emotional video in which he broke down into tears.
Chris explained on Wednesday that he and his partner, Sarah, had to make the difficult decision to put Olivia down since she was unable to empty her kidneys on her own.
He said: “We just didn’t want her to suffer.
“We are crushed. She was my best friend. If you have a pet, please give it a big hug. It is a day you always know is coming but you are never prepared for it.”
Olivia the Corgi gained popularity on social media in 2020, when TikTok corgi duo Olivia and Hammy became a worldwide sensation from their funny videos.
They garnered attention by dressing up in costumes and doing comedic sketches, often with their cat friends.
Olivia, Hammy, Chris, and Sarah all also appeared on various TV shows, including Access Hollywood.
Fans expressed their condolences for Olivia on social media.
One user wrote: “Found out this morning that Olivia, from Hammy and Olivia, crossed the rainbow bridge. Absolutely devastated. Run free, sweet Olivia.”
