WWE star Piper Niven hits back at trolls with classy reply following Raw debut
WWE Raw debutant Piper Niven has fired back brilliantly at those criticising her looks following her explosive first appearance on the show.
Scottish powerhouse Niven appeared on Raw this week, wrestling as a surrogate of sorts for the returning veteran Eva Marie.
The 30-year-old seems the perfect foil for sassy, salty Marie, who recently returned to the company after three years away but has been touted for a role that's far from dominated by in-ring action.
WWE appear to be setting up Niven to tackle the lion’s share of the in-ring action for the duo, with the popular Brit likely to do the veteran’s bidding in the coming weeks.
It began in earnest this week as she stepped in for Marie in a scheduled match against Naomi, with Niven making short work of the former SmackDown Women’s champion.
But while many celebrated the arrival of another British export on one of WWE’s flagship television programmes, her appearance also triggered senseless abuse from online trolls who mocked her appearance and weight.
Fans rushed to her defence whilst fellow WWE stars Mia Yim, Charlotte Flair, and Bronson Reed among others also stepped in to fire back at those accused of body shaming the stars.

Yim Tweeted: “The body shaming is disgusting. Ya’ll bold behind the screens. It costs nothing to be kind.” [sic].
Reed, the NXT North American Champion, added: “This happens to me every time I’m on screen, don’t worry about the haters… they can stay hating, we keep shining.”
A former star of WWE’s NXT UK brand, Niven is far from a shrinking violet, however, and gave a classy response to the hurtful remarks.
She took to Twitter herself, saying: “Successful big people are often met with this because we remind people of their own shortcomings, they want to believe that success is only for the “perfect people” and that’s why they didn’t achieve their dreams and we prove them wrong.

“Don’t even worry about them, I don’t.”
Niven wasted no time in ruffling feathers as she looks to make the most of a huge chance to shine on Raw.
She laid down a challenge to WWE Women’s tag team champions Natalya and Tamina on social media, telling the latter: “Hey mama can you tell them to make sure those [title] belts come one in XS and one in XL. We gonna need it.”
Though still relatively young, Niven – who looks set to be handed a new on-screen name by WWE after television announcers claimed to have “no idea” who she was – still has plenty of years in the ring under her belt.
Beginning in her homeland as a teenager, she wrestled in Japan and in the UK independent scene before her first WWE appearance in 2017.
She made her NXT UK debut two years later and was a regular feature prior to her Raw debut in the States this week.
