A YOB who drunkenly attacked a police officer has avoided jail – just months after she walked free for stalking her therapist.

Leah Dipnall, 24, chucked her phone at PC Alexander Norton as he carried out a welfare check on her.

She also spat inside a police car as she was taken away in handcuffs and banged her head on the window.

Dipnall, who appeared at Chester Crown Court under the pseudonym Daisy Degnan, avoided jail after she admitted assault and criminal damage.

She was instead ordered to wear a "sobriety" tag as part of a 120 day alcohol monitoring programme. 

The sentence comes just months after Dipnall swerved jail after waging a campaign of harassment against her therapist.

The stalker created social media accounts to bombard mental health therapist Katie Cooling with vile messages.

She also created explicit deep fake images claiming to be Ms Cooling and accused her of being a "n***e".

The therapist, who had counselled Dipnall at a domestic abuse refuge, was so traumatised she was forced to leave her job and move house.

For that six-week ordeal, Dipnall was given a two year suspended prison sentence.

Then, on September 8, she launched into the attack on the police officer following a 999 call she was about to take her own life.

Cops tracked Dipnall down to a home nearby where they discovered her intoxicated.

When PC Norton attempted to help her, she threw her mobile at him with "full force".

Jemma Gordon, prosecuting, said: "The defendant was placed into a police car whilst the officers contacted mental health professionals.

''Whilst inside the police vehicle, the defendant was banging her head off the window and when she was told to stop, she spat twice on the window which had to be professionally cleaned.''

The court was told Dipnall has a string of convictions for criminal damage, assaults on police officers and other violent offences.

Sentencing, Mr Recorder Mark Ainsworth said: "Ordinarily someone in your position would expect to go to prison but I have read the details of this case and read the various psychiatric reports.

''Police have a difficult role and they are entitled to be treated with respect and a degree of restraint but it is a matter of concern as the reasons that brought officers to your house.''
