Prince Harry protected by armed bodyguards carrying Glock box as Spare releases

Prince Harry was accompanied by an armed guard as he headed off to shoot an upcoming interview.

The Prince was in New York in the USA to film one of many interviews he has given surrounding his new book Spare.

As the Duke of Sussex made his way both in and out of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, photographers picked up a snap of one of his guards carrying a Glock lockbox.

The boxes are usually used to carry guns and ammunition securely.

The images come against a backdrop of the 38-year-old Prince’s ongoing security concerns, which saw him transition from British state security to private security in the USA.

Harry was blocked from having armed guards with him by British law, leading him to take legal action.

The Prince has often said he feels vulnerable, but in the UK it is illegal to have an armed private security detail.

The predicament has led him in the past it say he “does not feel safe” in his native country.

Before stepping down from the royal family, his security detail was paid for by the tax-payer, but is now not eligible for the service.

Harry has previously said that it is “unlawful and 'unfair” that he is not allowed to have his armed guards with him.

In contrast, in the States, armed guards carrying weapons is not an unusual situation.
